Staff and roles

Invite your team, assign owner, manager or cashier, and keep sensitive screens for the people who need them.

A shop is rarely one person. CEMAC POS lets you add every cashier and manager as their own user, so each sale is tied to a real name, and each person only sees what their job needs. This keeps your till accountable and your reports honest.

How it works

Every account belongs to one of three shop roles. The role decides which screens open and which stay locked.

  • Owner — full control. Sees every report, changes settings, VAT and pricing, manages staff and closes the books. There is normally one owner per shop.
  • Manager — runs the floor. Sells, handles refunds and stock, opens daily reports, but cannot change core settings or remove the owner.
  • Cashier — sells and looks up products and customers. Cannot see full profit reports, cannot change prices or settings.

There is also a platform-level super_admin used by Opesware to support the service; you never need to create one. Roles are enforced on the server, so a cashier cannot reach a manager screen even by typing the address directly.

Add a team member

  1. Open Settings, then Team (or Staff).
  2. Tap Add member and enter their name and email.
  3. Choose the role: manager or cashier.
  4. Save. The new user receives an invitation and sets their own password on first sign-in.
  5. Ask them to sign in once so you can confirm the account is active.

Give each person their own login. Sharing one account hides who rang up which sale and breaks the audit trail that OHADA and your own accounting rely on.

Change a role or remove someone

Open the member in the Team list, pick a new role, and save. To stop access when someone leaves, deactivate the account rather than deleting it — their past sales must stay attached to their name for your records. Deactivated staff can no longer sign in but history is preserved.

Common questions

Can one person work at two shops?

Yes. A user can be added to more than one shop, with a possibly different role in each. They pick the shop after signing in.

How many staff can I add?

Add as many as your plan allows. There is no charge per sale, so every cashier having their own login is expected.

Can I limit a manager from giving refunds?

Refunds are a manager capability. If you need tighter control, keep refunds to owner or manager logins and review them in the daily report.
