Loyalty and rewards
Reward repeat customers with points and tiers. One card works at every CEMAC POS shop, but points stay with the shop that gave them.
Repeat customers are the quiet engine of a good shop. CEMAC POS includes a loyalty programme so every visit earns points, and your best customers feel recognised. Setting it up takes a few minutes and it runs automatically at the till from then on.
How it works
You decide how points are earned — for example a point for each amount spent — and you can add tiers that unlock better rewards as a customer climbs. At checkout, the cashier attaches the customer, points are earned on the sale, and the customer can later spend those points as a reward on a future purchase.
The card itself is simply the customer phone. One card works at every CEMAC POS shop across the region — the customer does not need a separate card for each store. But the points are earned and spent only at the shop that gave them. There is no cross-shop spending, and points are never exchanged for cash. Your points are your points, and they stay in your shop.
- Points — earned automatically on each attached sale, by your chosen rule.
- Tiers — optional levels that reward loyal customers as they spend more.
- One card, per-shop points — the same phone across all shops, but each shop keeps its own balance.
Set up loyalty and issue a card
- Open Settings, then Loyalty.
- Turn on the programme and set the earning rule (for example points per amount spent).
- Optionally add tiers and the reward each tier unlocks.
- At the till, add or find the customer to issue their card — their phone is the card.
- Complete sales with the customer attached so points accrue automatically.
- When they redeem, apply their points as a reward on the sale.
Points stay per shop by design. A customer with 500 points at your shop cannot spend them at another shop, and no shop can turn points into money. This keeps the programme fair and simple for everyone.
The customer rewards portal
Customers can visit cemacpos.com/rewards to see all their shops in one place. Each shop they belong to shows its own points balance and tier, side by side, so they always know where they stand. It is a single view across shops, while the balances themselves remain separate and per-shop — a clear window, not a shared wallet.
Common errors and how to fix them
| Message / symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No points earned on a sale | No customer was attached to the sale. | Attach the customer before completing the sale; add them at the till if new. |
| Customer expects to spend points at another shop | Points are per-shop by design. | Explain that the card works everywhere but points are spent only where earned; there is no cross-shop use. |
| Customer asks to cash out points | Points are never exchanged for money. | Redeem points as a reward on a purchase instead; cash-out is not offered. |
| Portal shows a different balance | A recent sale has not synced yet. | Bring the till device online so the sale uploads; the portal updates once synced. |
| Duplicate customer profiles | The same person was added twice under slightly different details. | Merge or keep the correct profile and attach future sales to it so points stay in one place. |
Common questions
Does the customer need to install an app?
No. Their phone is the card at the till, and they can view balances in a browser at cemacpos.com/rewards.
Can a customer combine points from two shops?
No. Each shop keeps its own balance. The portal shows them together, but they are spent separately at each shop.
Can points be turned into cash?
No. Points are redeemed as rewards on a purchase at the shop that gave them, never exchanged for money.
