Fast checkout is the heart of CEMAC POS. A cashier builds the cart three ways — scan a barcode with the device camera or a USB scanner, type part of a product name in the search box, or tap a product tile in the grid. Each method adds the line instantly, so a busy counter never waits on typing.
How a sale flows
Every product carries a VAT-inclusive (TTC) price in whole CFA francs, so what you see on the tile is what the customer pays — no decimals, no surprises. Tap a line to change quantity, apply a per-line discount, or remove it. The running total, taxable base and 19.25% VAT are recomputed on every change and shown at the bottom of the cart.

Built for a phone in one hand
The screen is mobile-first with tap targets at least 44px tall, so it works on the cheap Android phones most Cameroonian shops already own — no dedicated till hardware required. The product grid and cart sit side by side on a tablet and stack on a phone.
When you press Pay, the sale opens the tender screen where you choose cash, MTN MoMo, Orange Money, card or a split across several. The moment the sale is confirmed it is written as an immutable, hash-chained record and a draft SYSCOHADA journal entry is produced automatically — the cashier never touches accounting.
Checkout works with no internet at all. A sale rung up offline is queued locally and pushed to the server through the sync channel the instant a connection returns, so the counter never stops.
